Tanisha E Henderson- Chaos Artist

"Art has been my passion since I could remember, but my art has always been different then the standard art. I like to take things apart and put them back together my way. It's quite chaotic."

Not many artist know what true art is and that's why so many look at my art strangely. It's a bit different from a conventional artist that 2021 is popping out. Art has been my passion since I could remember, but my art has always been different then the standard art. I like to take things apart and put them back together my way. It's quite chaotic. That's why when I describe my art style I call myself a chaos artist. It explains my style very straight forward and prepares the viewer or client for what they will be seeing or getting. Some people might not even understand what a chaos artist is, so if that is you let me break it down for you.

A chaos artist in their whole enjoys the chaos that comes from making their art or the chaos their art brings.I love taking things apart, such as breaking a vase and gluing the pieces back together in my own way to create my own art. My favorite are collages. My best piece is of Machine Gun Kelly. It's made by painting paper different shades of black, grey and white. I then cut up the pieces of paper randomly and glued the pieces together to create a black and white portrait of Machine Gun Kelly. It's a very beautiful piece.

Painting is my main medium that I use but instead of flat 2D paintings a lot of my pieces are very 3D. I use other things on the paintings to create a 3D effect. An example would be me using chicken feathers to create wings on one of my paintings. They popped out and created the illusion that the person was about to take flight straight out of the canvas.

While not many people enjoy or even understand my chaotic art some people love it. I've won statewide in an art competition with a painting I did. While it was done when I was learning the difference between oil and acrylic (they don't mix together that well) it still won. They mainly liked the idea of the painting and what it made them feel. It was my first step into painting and I've enjoyed the ride ever since.

I've explored all different mediums as well. I've played with glass, acrylics, resin, ceramics, clays, wood, metal, and stone. After giving birth to my first I also dipped my toes in organs! I dehydrated my placenta and used it in an art piece so that I could also remember the experience and show her the home she had for 9 months. It grosses a lot of people out, but it's my style of art and it is quite chaotic.
